Ι. Studies

  • Elena Lazaretou was born in Athens,Greece and studied piano at the “Nikos Skalkotas” Conservatory with professor Julie Troussa.
    • First Piano Diploma with distinction(1998)
    • second Piano Diploma with distinction and first Price (2000)
  • After being awarded with the “Onassis Foundation” scholarship(2001) she studied Postgaduate for solo piano and chamber music at the “Mozarteum” University of Salzburg,Austria with professor George Kern.
  • She continued her studies at the Vienna University of music “Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst” with professor and chief of the chamber music department Avedis Kouyoumdjian.
  • She also attended:
    • at “Mozarteum”,master classes for solo piano and chamber music with professor Vassily Lobanov(1997),and chamber music lessons with viola professor Thomas Riebl(2001)
    • at the University of Vienna chamber music lessons with violin professor Enrst Kovacic(2003).
  • She also attended singing lessons with the baritone and soloist of the National Opera House of Greece Dionyssio Troussa(2005).

ΙΙ. Appearances

  • As a soloist she first appeared at the “Parnassos” music Hall in Athens(1997). After that she performed many concerts in Greece,Austria and Germany.
  • She has also taken part at the “Kyrvia” and “Kornaria” Festivals in Creete.
  • She has collaborated with the “Mozarteum” chamber orchestra.
  • A special part of her pianistic activity is contemporary music. Her first contact with this kind has been in 2000 when she interpreted for the first time the piece “Cellisimo” for cello and piano by the composer Michael Travlos at the “Goethe” Institute Concert Hall.Since then she has performed many works by new Greek composers.
  • She is at this time recording a cd with works of the greek composer Yola Voutsina for the book “Music Rain” published by Cambia editions.
